WJIB airs no advertising.  We operate completely from the support and generous donations of our family of listeners. Shortfalls are supplemented by John Garabedian, who is paid no salary. This continues the tradition started by founder Bob Bittner 32 years ago to provide music lovers a restful place to enjoy continuous music and wonderful memories without commercial interruption.

Your support keeps WJIB commercial-free!

Our 2025 fundraising was a great success. We raised $172,369, which is substantially higher than any previous WJIB fundraising. There was no fundraising in 2024.

In 2025 from a listener suggestion we began offering a monthly donor system.  Supporters can now choose to make regular donations as low as $20 each month.

HERE’S HOW OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISING WORKS:

  1. Annually WJIB asks listeners to make donations in the amount of their choice via the VISA/Mastercard link above (or by check). When the year’s goal is reached, ALL fund-raising announcements cease for the remainder of the year.
  1. Because WJIB is virtually a one-man station, annual expenses are minimal, compared to any other station. Contributions go to the expenses of operating the station, without any frivolous spending.
  1. We encourage listeners to donate what they feel the music on the station is worth to them, however WJIB also feels that it’s important to NOT send in an amount more than what a listener would miss, regarding his/her personal finances.
  1. For this the listener gets to proudly listen as a supporter through multiple channels! We now offer commercial-free streaming at wjib.com, on Alexa, and via the WJIB phone app. If you listen online we ask you to consider throwing in a little extra to cover the cost of this convenience.
  1. The 20x power increase in Spring, 2025 and the move from AM 740 to AM 720 greatly increased our coverage both day and night. The six-figure investment in new equipment was paid for with funds from John Garabedian). Now WJIB reaches a much larger audience and clear reception for long-time ‘JIB listeners in areas where the signal previously was weak.  And we’re beginning to receive donations from new far-away listeners previously unable to receive WJIB (such as London, England!).

Please contribute what you feel WJIB brings you all year so we can continue commercial-free.
